Rick Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 watched 2 litre bangers earlier at hednesford raceway and there was a mk2 tranny camper lol didnt stay for the Destruction derby though. i have some pics to upload
FredTransit Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Transit murder. They will be laughing on the other side of their faces when they realise it was 1, LEZ exempt, so now worth more than a Mk5 2, could have whacked the body off and put a beavertail on it. DON'T tell me it was a shed and wouldn't pass the MOT, cos a lot of recovery trucks are and they would not have put it on the track if it was gonna snap in half before it got to the arena. Oh, and I want those mirrors.....
Rick Posted May 26, 2008 Author Report Posted May 26, 2008 it was in pretty good nick other than the bonnet mate doubt it survived the last event though
mk3cokebottle Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 it was in pretty good nick other than the bonnet mate doubt it survived the last event though and i bet the only reason the bonnet was bent was to put the bonnet pins in through the slam panel

bronze4door Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 tis a good day out at hednesford i have been there a few times its just quite far away from me
c1arke Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 good old hensford love it there nothing beets their smell of rubber and petrol and seeing other cars smash in to each other
atomic-cortina Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 I do have to sympathize with "FredTransit" here as I am not keen on banger racing at the best of time as I find that to ronnie a car in 10 mins after all the work put in into preparing them is a waste of time and money. However when people wreck cars that are worth money or are collected and loved by other people and have nothing wrong with them, I find it a little annoying. That Transit may have been a nice project for someone to do and alot of MK2 and MK3 Cortinas hit banger tracks too. I just disagree with the sport all together. Why not enjoy the cars and improve them? I'll be sticking with the drag racing.
