Mrs O/H/C Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 HERES THE EVENTS OF THE EVENING ... my escort has got a MAJOR petrol leak (75p a mile) my exhaust has decided to expire ( nearly ) fan belt about to snap on cortina ( using mine of escort ) alternater a little bit dodgy ( changed ) changed two rear tyres from 175/50/13 TO 175/70/13 so the cortina will be cruisable what a bl**dy evening .. but im sure we are not alone

mossy Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 retuned the carb...runs properly now fitted new starter...actually starts! fitted bumpers fitted grill re-wired all the light looms, front and rear made new earths cleaned up terminals re-taped loom packed car sure theres more!

doyle Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 so thursday i thought i would change my head on the cappa for my new stage 3 one -didnt start till 3 though because i was waiting for a delivery! removed carbs, rad and exhaust manifold,painted rocker cover, dropped off head to get skimmed and set up:evil: friday managed to take off old head,decoked pistons, dropped oil changed filter, cleaned block picked up new head and refitted,plugs fitted, elec fan ftted, carbs, move oil cooler, fitted rocker cover. saturday fitted new manifold, then took it off again cos it fouls on steering coupling , refitted old one, fitted leads, coolant lines, timed up, oiled up etc. Was supposed to be on rollers today but the guys at the garage i went to wanted to go home at 4 but at least the cars running now and is ok, could do with the cam and ignition tweeking to make perfect but i'll be going to the Classic Ford show after all!! Was touch and go on more than a few occasions!
