Jelly Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Bloody 'ell James, that's pretty good! What mods have you got declared?
quickrack Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 HAH! Over here (Ireland) my insurance fully comp ,no agreed value , is gonna cost me €430(£300). For 2000 miles. And car can NOT be modified (ahem) or they wont cover it. Just as well FORD had a big (ahem) options list.
james p Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 i told em bout xhaust ,k+n,suspension, seats ,harnesses ,alloys and small stereo i thort that was pretty good
Messenjah Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 tried liverpool victoria's online quote thing had to lie about my age bacaue apparently i cant have a licence yet :S had to make myself 15 days older ..... £1515 tp £1555 TPFT much better then anyone else over 500 less then any other quote i have got thts in my name on a capri it didnt ask me engine size which seeems odd it asked make model and type fprd capri S and year 1983 didnt they make a 3.0ls aswell ..... so its the same price for a 2.0ls as it is a 3.0l ?????
Slik 50 Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 I'm paying about £530 fully comp I think cant realy remember! But what I can remember is that at the time of insuring it, I couldnt decide wheter to insure the 2.8 or keep it of the road for another year and insure a bedford rascal! When the isurance company told me that they wanted about £60 more for the rascal, my decision was made. A lad that works for us has just passed his test and bought a 1.4 K reg clio and he is paying about £1900 t/p only
LUKE261 Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 im insured through adrian flux, got zero no claims (coz was on my mums lol) you have 2 pm colin bailey (baileymex) for your membership number and print off the reply (as proof of membership to old skool ford) they will only give you a modified policy if your car is modified so no classic policy!! im 20 years old insured my 1967 anglia through them TPFT £878 got a 2.1 pinto, 5 speed, modified suspension/steering n all that you have bout 10 pages 2 fill out and return 2 them
me bitch Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 i insure my my 100e with the sidvalve lump still in it for £1750 we just get ripped off
LUKE261 Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 oh and agreed value of 3 grand and limited mileage of 5000 miles
Messenjah Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 luke i rang them and mentioned osf they asked for a mebership number and i said i dotn have one can you pretend i do and then if the quote is anywhere near reasonable ill get an officail oe for you blah blah ....... £2700 hmmmm
LUKE261 Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 oh rite thats a bit wierd mate should b a lot cheaper than that
LUKE261 Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 yea should b cheaper than that pm bailey mex, n print off the reply, then ring em u want 2 insure your modified classic car, they get in touch with highways insurance i think, fluxy does all the modified policys through them coz fluxy is just a broker, then they ask u your mods ie got a dgav/dgas carb on it (they dont even ask that just say twin choke weber) n you have a 4 branch manifold n all that, then has it been lowered yes 2" etc. you get loads of paper work 2 fill out!!!, you may need 2 have a limited mileage policy to make it cheaper, mine is 5000 miles, not a problem for you as you got your landrover aswell.
Ian1300 Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 Well mine was £1300 first year second year £950 on a standard 1300 ghia and i'm with liverpool victoria i think i may have changed can't remeber. Sometimes it seems like you get a better deal on the phone rather than online well thats what i seem to find.
Jelly Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 Luke is the pinto standard? That's a fantastic quote.. I thought at 20 a 2 litre would be out of bounds for us.. I wonder if a Zetec would be much dearer
