oliver Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 I need to fit a seat belt in the back for my 2 1/2 year olds car seat. In my newer car the belt goes around the back of the seat and the seat has its own harness. How do i go about this and where would i get belts from/fit them to etc. would a lap style belt system be ok? Thanks
Chud Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 I had E30 BMW belts fitted to the back of my GT for my two Girls, they are inertia ones with long strap's so easily go round their child seat's,cost me £40 for a pair from a specialist breaker's.My mate made up thick plates for the bolts to go through under seat pans and rear shelf, belts also come with a lap belt for your middle passenger too!
MK2Ed Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 The Escorts will have the mounting points already in place for lap or 3 point belts and you can get new belts from good old Halfords on line… A lap belt system is OK for some child/baby seats, I know cause I’ve read the instructions. Others are only recommended for use with 3 point seat belts…
