kevmk2 Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 That clip is from Paul hill's rolling road (Engine Advantages) I hope you have a Maram shaft in your turbo, or its bye bye turbo after a short period Thats why i only had a mild system on mine before and didnt have it switched on for long periods The exhaist gas temps go through the roof and it doesnt do the valve seats much good after a period of time either. For a proper full on anti lag system you need a modded idle control valve and some other mods. Or what the wrc cars use now is EGR system, its similar to ALS but reduces the heat alot more. My mate Jason had a proper system on his mk2 years ago with a proper IHA turbo, and he had it switched on and the ball bearings from the roller bearing turbo decided to let go and went all around his engine, leaving him with an expensive engine rebuild But when he had it switched on you could see through the whole exhaust from the tailpipe, it glowed red all the way thorugh I also used mine before down the quarter mile and it made no differance to the times at all, all its really good for is short twisty bends, like country lanes etc. But then with no grip you dont want full boost on a bend Heres mine with mild anti lag in the second part of the clip
zetecmk2 Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 nice one ian, saab 9-3 lpt, emerald, cheap anti lag for kooltina! something i've been looking in to!!!
