havin a seriously bad day on the car.

 

i had great ideas and intentions this morning and its all going tits up :-s

 

after chopping up the bulkhead to fit my tunnel its fookin wrong and my attempt at rectifying the situation made it worse.

 

i havent told my dad what an arse iv been iv gotta get it right by wednesday before i embarass myself with this shoddy workmanship....

 

i made sure it was right before i chopped it....

Dont worry matey we all make mistakes, how would we learn if we didnt? I fecked up my mazda pickup when i was trying to convert it to rover v8. I haphassedly chopped out all the mounts and made my own but in the excitement my measurements were shite the v8 didnt fit and neither did the original engine and coz of that its been off the road now for 4 years!! you'll sort it mate

Snapped a head bolt while fitting the heads on my rover v8 at the weekend. snapped flush with the block. Had to walk away before i did something i'd regret. Thought i was gonna need a new block, but i got home from work today and gave the sheared stud a tap with a centre punch and managed to ease it out. I can sleep easy now.

I bout a mk2 once, didnt check the oil before i set off on the 110 mile journey home

 

3 hours later than planed and the most welded solid crossflow crank, i eventually got towed home

 

Still live and learn............

When I had my Mk1 Escort I failed to notice that a small jubilee clip was missing so the evening before a sprint event at Curborough the fuel pipe to the carb came off dousing the engine in petrol so when I got in and started it the bloomin' thing blew up.

managed to over tighten my wheel locking nuts and couldnt get them off again.

 

that was a scary moment.

i just got my escort started about 2 months after i brought it because it was a non runner

i got one of me mates round 2 take a look at it. it didnt come with a throttle cable so i had 2 rev it by the carb so

so i go it the car lent over 2 pop the bonnet and then got the barrel through the door with the door open so i could turn it over and give it some revs (when i lent over 2 open the bonnet i put the car in 2 reverse) so i turned it over and the car went bac the door went up ahainst the garage wall 2 a 90dergree angle 2 the car gutted
