The problems Simon has spotted are the swage along the length of the wing (where the chrome fits on supers and deluxes) doesn't go to a point like on original wings.

And the wheel arch lip is slightly rounded instead of being square.

They are two minor things, that I probably wouldn't have spotted, but Simon is a trained body repair man, so has an eye for detail.

As for the price, I don't know. You'll have to ask him. I think he did order them in October though, so he's had a long wait for them. He did order a load of other stuff too, so that may be why it took so long.

Rick> Yes, they are all hand made.

I have had a few panels from them and the quality is great but it does hit you in the pocket. I now use outer auto panels who have good quality panels but are relativly dirt cheap.

genuine ford panels= fit shit

patern parts= just as bad

Diaagree on that one, It depends where they are sourced. I've just fitted 2 spurrious wings and 2 spurrious door skins on my mates MK2 Escort and the pattern door skins were a lovely fit. Really surprised me. The 2 wings sourced from the same company, O/S wing was a great fit needed no work and the N/S wing was like fitting a glove on a foot !!!!

I've never had a problem fitting Genuine Ford panels - and i've fit quite a few

The expressed wings for my Anglia are a one piece pressing (they used to be welded down the middle. Like Mike says the swage is differant and the arch pressing is not as keen as it could be. But heck these are hand made - if I could go to Ford I would !! I would have repaired the originals but time is against me hence went down this route.

The original presses will long since have been melted down. Expressed is only a small outfit compared to the companys that made the panels for Ford.

I've bought loads of panels from expressed over the years, The only problem i ever had was fitting a door skin to a MK2 Zodiac. The rear arch was completley wrong. I had to flatten the complete rear edge and re- make the fold. You have to expect some fiddling and messing but generally I have always been pleased with em. At the end of the day where else can you go for em (I mean for the Anglia/ Tina - I appreciate still good sources for the Escort)

Yes they take a good long time to come (and they forgot my wheel arch so I have to wait another 3 months for that) but heh i've enough to be getting on with. You'll see how the wings fit when I update the project !!!!
