Before i make any judgement or statement, can i ask one small question.... Was the car parked legaly and safely? , ie no wheels on the pavement, driveways blocked etc... The reason i ask is because of the idiots we get round here whilst i WALK my child to school... even had one idiot threaten me with court because i ran my daugters buggy down the side of his people carrier thing, even though he had 2 wheels well up on the path, in that instance he threatened to call the police, i said il save you the bother and called em myself, it was all sorted at the roadside and he was given a ticking off.

garyv6100e Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 A while back some twat in a white van driving up a country lane swipped the mirror of my wifes motor and did not stop . when she got home i looked at the damage the mirror hit the door denting it and also chipped the drivers door window £900 later (insurance claim) these modern plastics cost a fortune for such a minor part
Seldon Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 I was changing my plugs in my Dads drive on Sunday when I heard a car go past followed by a crunch. I walked up & saw his neighbours door mirror hanging off & a Merc parking up at the top of the road. I told the guy who owned the parked car & when he went & knocked on the Merc owners door she said "oh did I hit it? I did not notice", even tho her mirror was cracked & battered. Slippery moo.
Mr.Sumo Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Mirrors...my Wife loves them So far i need to get the top cover for the passenger side and a complete mirror for drivers side......none of the damage i hasten to add done by my beloved..................... .......her words , not mine
sab6024 Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Gutted for ya, they cost a small fortune to replace, especially if they're colour coded too I came home from CF to find that someone had broken the mirror off my tupperware chariot. My brother fixed it back on but there was a tiny pin inside that was broken. We took a trip down to my local Ford dealers. They can't do the pin but they can sell me a complete mirror for £86 but they can't get them in stock......so surely that would mean they can't sell me one
Trevmk3 Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 i had someone smash my mirror into a few pieces on monday, i had only been parked on the road for 20 minutes ish. thing is the car in front of mine had been hit on the mirror aswell. some dozey barstool obviously didnt know how wide there fooking car was and didnt bother stopping after causing the damage (or was too stupid to realise)

X-pack-Glyn Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 When we was kids we used to pull mudflaps off of 2CV's... it was a little game we had, someone would shout 2CV!!!!! and we would all have to leg it over and pull off one of its stupid sticky outy mudflaps... anyone that didnt get a flap was instantly out of the game.
vibrating_Cake Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 lololol 2cv game sounds fun... but harsh.... as for the mirror thing. i can admit to clipping a few back towards the door of many cars sometimes on purpose. other times because of stupid parking. as mirrors go they will fold towards the car generally but i have knocked a few streight off... oh yea... i drive a mercedes LGV through resedential areas where random people decide its OK to double park when theres space on the other side of the road and leave less than inches for me to get through. so i decide who's at fault and drive closest to their car. if i cant fit... off comes the mirror!
