escortmad79 Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 Another Mk5 got raced at Cowdenbeath last week, got taken out in the first race though so didn't appear again, shame cos it didn't look too bad
Chris M Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 Its the only way for them to die.. recently help send a 2.8 granny, mk5 tina and cardinal hearse to there oval graves
FredTransit Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 I am sorry it's bullshit that these cars (and vans) are only good for the track and are of no use. The last Mk2 transit we broke up would have been of no use to the banger vandals. All that was left was some of the shell, the manky passenger seat and only some of the roof. Incomplete chassis, no axles, no drive train doors, glass or anything mechanical! The next one will have the whole roof off, in case I come across another pop top camper reversion candidate. can't see anybody managing to get round the track with that..... Show me a Mk2 transit scrapper and I will show you something that will be no use to the banger vandals. Oh, and a heap of very decent bits.
quickrack Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 Agreed. I found a car so rotten shell didnt exist below top of the arches yet i got loads off it. No banger racing round here anymore but if there was i would be o good friend to them. Spares aplenty and maybe save some of em???
FredTransit Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 Even council tow ins can be saved. Pre 1980 don't need a VIN plate
