line lock/bias valve virgin

hello peeps... just wonderin for wonderments sake... and cos i hope to do at least one RWYB this year... how do i lock out the front brakes for burnouts?

 

do i need a line lock and bias valve? how har/how expensive is this mod?

 

would be fun for the street to!

you dont need one mate to do burnouts and stuff, the rear drums dont work as well as the front discs so press the brake, give it some beans and lift the clutch!! HEEL AND TOE or use a stick to press the accelerator if you cant heel and toe

Bring the revs up and dump the clutch to get the wheels spinning

 

then sling your left foot on the brake pedal. You'll get to the brakes way before the car starts to move any real distance.

Heel and toe method as mentioned. I used to use a brake clamp on the short peice of rubber brake hose attatched to the offside brake disc. Saves your rear brakes and clutch.

cheers guys, can heel and toe and already knew bout dumping the clutch and braking... but i don't wana knacker out my drums and should i upgrade my brakes then i defo don't wana knacker them out...

 

*edit* just realised how vague my first question was... i know how to do burnouts but was just wondering about line locks and bias valves cos i hear poeple goin on about it but can only assume a line lock does exactly that and locks out a brake line and a bias valve adjusts the bias from front to rear?

 

still would like to understand them better

Simple-plumb in the linelock into the front brake line before it splits to both calipers, push the brake pedal, flick the linelock, release brake pedal-front brakes locked. To release-flick linelock off.

 

Dont need a bias valve.

Thought so mate.

 

Rally Design also do one which has a knob , push brake on, push knob down, release brake pedal-brakes locked-then to unlock just push brake pedal again-no need to mess about with levers or knobs then.
