16v Vauxhall engine????

Anyone know the going rate for one on these at the moment? 16v red top from a calibra?

was one one the bay for £250 buy it now i recon £500 is more like it tho, for a gooden. but most have been raced at some point, thus will need rebuilding.

If it's lucky enough to have a coscast head (which I doubt in a calibra) it's worth a fair bit, as they're rare and the best heads to have. If it has one of those, ask £750

The only real benefit of a coscast head is the casting is a little thicker and you can be more aggresive with the porting, however considering they dont need lot of work to push you over 200bhp the later type will do the average joe on the street fine.

 

As for £750 you are hoping a bit, they exchange hands for anything from £150 to £300 and its a case of pot luck whether its a Coscast, Most Xes have done at least 100k plus and will need new pistons anyway so the forged pistons in Coscast are to no benefit as they will be junk
