Kalypzo Posted August 16, 2008 Report Posted August 16, 2008 Wondering if this is a classic case of "lets have the newb over"..... Bought an atlas a couple of years ago. It's 50", and having looked at numerous tech articles for comparison, its a 3ltr capri one. EXCEPT it has 8" drums instead of 9". Put it on ebay and a helpful person suggested it could be a V4 atlas? My osf knowledge is limited and revolves around mk2 cortinas (STILL learning all the time) so if anyone can confirm that there was an atlas for a V4,if so from what, and was I had over? I even bought it from a fellow "enthusiast" so will be doubly pi$$ed off.
kirk10 Posted August 16, 2008 Report Posted August 16, 2008 looks to be definatly an atlas to me mine didnt have all them brake cable guides and so on on it tho im sure some 1 will be along to confirm it soon and give you a better idea
Admin Vista Posted August 16, 2008 Admin Report Posted August 16, 2008 Looks like it to me too, the bow and arrow tye hand brake mechanism on the mk1 capri used that jockey wheel. Can't answer the 8" drums question though, but you're right the mk1 3 litre capri has 9" drums. Perhaps someone fitted 8" drums when using the axle for something else
