lee bishop Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 one of this winters projects was to quicken up my mk2 rs, so now it sports a JEM engines stage 3 head, with newman phase 3 cam and padded followers, and a newman vernier pully. i am sticking with the std carb for a bit, hopeing for around 140bhp, but i need somewhere to set it all up correctly, any reccomendations??

Admin Mk2Jo Posted November 26, 2006 Admin Report Posted November 26, 2006 cant remember where it is or waht its called lol i think its called SAS tuning in aldershot DO NOT GO THERE !, my mate had loads of problems with the bloke there I took my Scooby there for a rolling road day a few years back and they were brilliant ... I found them very helpful and careful with the car
Wessie Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 we took a civic type r along, and they were really unhelpful when it came to what we could do to get more power out of it, also they lost my mate the championship for building a dodgy race engine
BIG G Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 youmay have to travel a bit more towards london
Wessie Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 from what i've heard do not go to surrey rolling road either
mista weava Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 SAS built an engine for my friends evo 4. it was an all steel affair. never the less it detonated so badly from their setup, that the engine destroyed itself. he then used another tuner and had another engine built, this time satisfactorily. he had awful trouble with SAS. you could of course go to power engineering in Uxbridge, they have a great deal of experience with ford engines and are well reknowned throughout the ford and japanese tuning circles.
Wessie Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 even though SAS were given the full rulebook they still built a dodgy engine, when it was tripped my m8 tryed to get in contact with SAS and they magically 'disappeared' no calls were answered and no apologies were sent
escort21 Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Northampton motorsport are the guys to see....i'm going there tomorrow
60ftman Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 There used to be a place in Pheonix Green, Hartley Wintney (on the A30 not far from Blackbushe) called 'Phegre Engineering'. Not sure if they're still there, but they were Weber dealers and absolutely the nuts on anything with Webers on it.
