Just had a call from a friend of mine who owns a Brooklands Capri.

 

He was followed yesterday by a Red Vauxhall (Poss Vectra) with Reg no X339CFC - upon checking, DVLA say number does not exist!

 

He was followed for ages & doubled back a few times too.

 

Sighting was in Surrey area so keep a close eye on your OSF's

i had a suspicious chap in a merc following me a few days ago.

 

you gotta be aware, never drive straight home if your suspicious go around the block or pull over and call the police if your really concerned

and take note of reg, car, description of driver if you can guys, i watched it on police camera ation

No mate I live in the sticks where we all leave our front doors unlocked & wide open

 

Obviously it pays to be cautious.. It's inevitable people are gonna pay interest in out cars... but not everyone in a non osf is a car thief!

 

I had a guy pull up & look around my Anglia.. the whole time he was barely listening to what I was saying & I kept catching him looking at my mk3 tina in the garage... I took down his number plate.

having had mine stolen recently, i would rather be paranoid, cautious etc etc, than have another one taken especially in light of how useless the police have been, closing the case two days after it was reported because it's not a 'solveable crime'

 

so i would take care to shake any one i think is following me

 

and what was this about a shogun? has any one noticed a link between the misiing cars and a mitsubishi shogun then?

Yes mate, there were a few cases earlier in the year where a chap has been seen lurking on peoples driveways / acting suspiciously and driving off in a Mitsubishi Shogun.

 

There is a fine line between being cautious and being paranoid, but in my experience after doing 2 types of jobs where I have had attempted hijacks, threatened with knives and guns, mugged left right and centre & on one occasion being held prisoner, I think I maybe a tad paranoid... but the truth is, to help beat a theif, you have to think like one... never drop your guard because they will then pounce.

 

I have been followed a couple of times, but these have been very late at night / early hours of the morning... I think that entitles me to be suspicious

 

As I said in a thread the other day, we are on the run up to Xmas & it's a well known fact that theifs like to pounce at this time of year. Lock everything, house, car, garage... and keep your cars out of sight.

 

Am I being over the top by having my cars and workshop covered by CCTV???

Easy - quickly stop and point your camera phone at them - try to take the best picture you can and scarper - they will know you clocked them and they will try to get away as quick as poss.

i feel a 'proffesionals' style chase coming on....

 

 

 

seriously though you've got to watch out. i highly reccomend you get immobilisers proffesionally installed on all of your OSF's, and don't keep any thing valueable inside of them.

 

keep them locked and boxed in if possible.

 

Take note that anything post 1995 WILL have a factory immobiliser, unless it is an import.
