turboterror Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 My mate knows a few of the HPE crew and i'm pretty sure that James and Andy Harris both had 111mph terminal speeds at Brighton . James also managed an incredible 1.6sec 0-60foot on that road surface .
Guest HARRIS "REAL DEA Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 I will give my congrats to james when jeff posts up the outcome of brighton but as for 60ft's and terminal speeds my first 2 runs were 111 mph @ 12.9 and 12.8 and 112mph on my 12.6 my 60 ft times were in the 2s and yes turboterror james done a 1.6 sixty foot on his second run but that was with a misfire but on his 12.3 he was in the 2s and toby i wouldnt be to disheartened mate my car is faster than 2 years ago and i managed to only equal my personal best with a bit of a better terminal speed i learnt something yesterday on the 2nd run as i hit 4th gear and i was heading towards the sea is that it was very calm and the street lights need repainting see you at the pod saturday toby

Jeff HPE Motorsport Posted September 14, 2008 Author Report Posted September 14, 2008 I don't know, which sounds odd but I was a a bit put out by my own performance. I ran 13.35 at 95 on a slippery track, 13.4 with my passenger window open at 96 I think, and 13.4 on a grippy track but missed 4th. I really thought I would be up on terminal and down on time, I seem to be missing HP, just can't gt my head round it and a bit disillusioned by it Everyone was initially down on terminal speed, but I would be interested on James, Rons and Andy's terminals to see if they were down later on in the day, although again I didn't learn anything bacause of what I got wrong above You just want to go faster every year, I really wanted to beat my 13.19 and thought I would. The thing is that I had changed a few things. The engine hasn't been run anywhere since I re-built it cos of the cam foller issue I had, I ran a lower diff than previously at Brighton, I changed something in the engine when I rebuilt it and don't know if it has improved things. Cheers for asking Russ - bet you wish you hadn't Sorry Jeff....Your thread back Appology accepted Toby, I left my calling card on your windscreen. Jeff Harris.
Toby Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Yeah, thanks Jeff!! At least when you've all given up drag racing you can fall back on your comedy
