was watchin TV and a personal injury add came on...they wind me up SO King much!!!

it was one with a guy gettin hit by a fork lift, and he says summert like "the guy didnt looke and crushed me"

then after all the crap about personal injury the guy goes "they have now introduced new safty precations in my work" and you see em all in florecent jackets

firstly if the guy DIDN'T look, he STILL wouldnt see him, so the jacket is pointless

seccondly FORK LIFTS BEEP he shoulda fookin heard it and moved the tinker lol!!!

it just winds me up now how people will make a law suit out of anythin these days, and then you get these daft adds with stupid examples!

I agree with the cases quoted but there are cases where people are genuinely in need (and deserving of) compensation and many of them wouldn't get it without firms that were prepared to operate on a no win no fee basis. Imagine if you had to sue your own employer for something, they can afford to tie you up in the courts for much longer than you or I could and if you have to fund it yourself, when your funds run out so does your case.

I'm married to a Personal injury solicitor and yes many of the stories she comes home with make my blood boil. Generally however the stories that anger me are the cases that they reject. They don't take every case on, it has to be one that has a strong chance of winning i.e. justification for compensation in the first place. Who here would say that the victim of a medical malpractice who now has a colostomy bag due to a hospital error doesn't deserve to be compensated? Or perhaps someone crippled for life from falling down an unmarked hole that was covered with a piece of thin plywood? He walked over the plywood, it gave way and he dropped something like 15 feet and is now a paraplegic.

Care for some of these injuries costs many 100's of thousands over a life time and the compensation they are awarded is not so they can go out and buy Ferraris, it's to pay for the extensive medical care they need and replace a percentage of the salary that they would have earned had the accident not happened in the first place.

The one that winds me up is the guy who was fitting the fire alarm but was given the wrong type of ladder!! , the ladders slides down the wall and he ends up getting paid out.

Surely you have to really thick to do that job with out thinking of your own personal safety, get the right ladder and then do the job, it's your own stoopid fault if you want to use the wrong tools to do a job. Why should money be given to thick people

People just like to complain to get things for free. Had a customer in the garage the other day reported a hose leaking saying "Don't let them take it as it is gonna let go soon" the cstomer said they didn't want it doing cause he had to get the car back for his missus the later that day she came in on the back of a lorry in tears cause the guy at BLOCKBUSTERS said that the steam coming out of the engine bay was a headgasket gone. She demanded we did the work free of charge and called us all thieves blah blah and the management rolled over and siad ok  All because her dumb ass boyfriend didn't tell her. People need a slap

What pisses me off about our litigious (sp?) society is when at work we have to lock off our tower lights which have a ladder up the middle, because if a tresspasser fell off one my Company would be liable!

And why do we have to put up signs to say that CCTV footage may be used for intended prosecutions, if you shouldn't be on the premises, fook right off, you deserve everything you get!!

Room 101 he we come!
