Hi,

Ive taken the stripes off my car ready for some bodywork to get sorted out. Its left me with a problem. I cant decide weather to leave them off, put the blue RS stipes back on, or go Mexico stripes in a different colour? What do you reckon?

I also experimented as i was takin them off. Heres a bit of a 'different' idea:

garyv6100e: Its a replica mate. I was thinkin of puttin 1100 badges on as thats what it started life as, but it has RS wings so i dont know? I was thinkin the Mexico look as they didnt make the RS2k until '73 (mines '71)

zetecmk2: I like the black bonnet idea but think it only suits bubbled arched mk1s.

Cheers for the opinions and ideas tho!

It looks almost south london style with the stripes off, however mate its your car, iam however loving the idea of the 1100 badges could you imagine some Punto or Saxo drivers face as you pull away :lol:

Stripes are a double edge sword yeah they look great, but mk1s look great when there clean and simple ( Much like myself! ) I took off my pinstripes as they were peeling but kinda miss them. Have you thought about blue/black pinstripes silver look good too

This's the very dilema I've been having for ages over my replica which is almost identical to yours, even down to the blue cage..

After seeing pics of it with and without, I think I'd think probably go for plain and simple white and lose the cibies. Slammed over those lovely alloys, it'll look the dogs danglies.

Having said that, it does look rather good with stripes & cibies..
