Retromotorsport Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Well two of my mates went there and one of their engines blew up after one of the Steves revved the granny out of it, it went well past the limit that the engine was intended to go to what? it blew up on the rollers ?
evildave Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 The 2 steve's set mine up at track n road and considering the time and effort they put into it i can't think of anyone doing a better job. Sure it's a little hard for people to keep smiling after day in day out working on the rollers but when it came down to it they were very helpful and professional. I had; compression test new plugs cam timing adjusted new air and fuel jets (multiple tries to get the best suited ones) carbs balanced and MBE ecu mapped i arrived at 6 on a friday night and left at 11 and only got charged £300 i'm not on commission honest lol
Darran Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 But Darran, your not paying them to smile .... Steve P has been there .. done that, go into his place with the " i know best" attitude and he'll take you with a pinch of salt till you've proved yourself ... hes honest. Steve G , ex Hart, built engines for Boreham, one of the best around a Lotus 907-912 engine, one of the best around a BD and countless other lumps. honest and is the yin to Steve G's yan ... if you want a rose tinted view of an engine, dont go to T&R ..if you want the truth, then go there, But at the end of the day, as long as you going in and get a figure, and come out with a better figure (and not just bhp, your looking for a bigger lump under the curve) then thats fine.. pick a rolling road, and stick to it, build a relationship with the operators and you'll be fine. Ok thats your veiw, They have good rolling road,my car made the power it should. Just unhappy people, sure they would rather be doing something else!!!

nelly231 Posted October 13, 2008 Author Report Posted October 13, 2008 now im really not sure who to use! i guess wherever you go people will have good and bad stories. i have bought e few bits from SBD and they seem to be a professional and knowledgable bunch and they recommended Steve at Track and Road as all their cars go there. Once i finished running my motor in i will have to make a decision!
