mk1super Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 My mates little brother tried to get into the RAF as a Avionics technician ( Think thats how its spelled ) Now the lad is 18 and is a X mas school leaver, He has excellent grades never been in any trouble and passed the medical no issues at all. However he got a phone call from the recruiting office telling him there was no places available for this trade, and to either try again next year or go for something else. Is he being bumped off or is this the case that even the RAF there needs to be a vacancy to fill before you can go in? The lads gutted he had his heart set on going into the RAF.
Admin Vista Posted October 9, 2008 Admin Report Posted October 9, 2008 Yes there has to be a vacancy to fill. Tell him to try the Royal Navy Fleet Air arm, they have similar trades specialisations available. Travel prospects are better too
