They where qued down past the toilet when i did my last run saturday night & they where to busy making sand castles on the start line every 5 minutes to worry about the 3 mile que that had formed in the fire up lane. Still no wait at the bar though :beer:

So there were 3 mile Q's and the Q's weren't that bad - seems it was a case of timing then - still 5  runs aint bad...and some time for nelsons...

I may well have gone but not sure if anyone posted or it was something I personally missed….

There were post's but I didn't post or respond because I had too much to do really to go...

So I moved all of that to the back of the important queue, changed the diff and gearbox on Friday night, got up at 6.00 on Saturday, struggled with the clutch, made some phone calls and was away by 10.00!! with the car with no clutch on the back of the van - I should have known then it was going to be problematic by then!

I also run a pb of 13.2 in my R5 on street tyres.

13.2 in a FWD road legal is pretty good going mate :ykt:

Now get on with the real project!!

A bit de-motivating that … Still don’t let it cloud your pursuit of excellence…....

With the compression ratio thats running i wouldnt like to fit it :lol:

whats compression ratio got to do with fittng a nitrous kit then Kev

Higher the compression the further you've got to walk with your broom...

What's the compression limit then? - not that I would, but never say never

That's going to be about as difficult as an 11 second pre-crossflow! :ykt:

I always thought if you ran really high compression and your engine was on the limit then fitting nos would make it like a bomb waiting to go off

I remember BMX 11T being low compression years ago and run lots of nos

I guess you can take ignition out of it to deal with the nos.

So if a pinto was running 13:1 compression ratio or higher could you fit nos without worrying about it going bang?

Your the NOS god, so you should know these things

The thing is Kev I do know

But it's the people who know fook all about nitrous seem to post the most on here about it

Doesn't fitting nos effectively increase the volumetric efficiency, similar to the way a turbo works, thereby increasing the effective compression ratio.

If this is true, then doesn't lowering the compression give more space for the gas to fill and thereby a lowered CR would perhaps be better than one on the limit, by increasing this space. I think the jets have to be positioned in such a way that it kind of supercharges / adds some inertia to the charge.

I know I don't know, and I know I am posting about Nos, but I am interested in the theory. Am I close? :?

If that's what it says in the book you've read about nitrous Toby then it must be right :lol::lol:

It's probably out of date and there is no substitute for the school of life.:thumbsup:

Isn't there a guy called Trevor Lang......ermm something along those lines, who knows everything there is to know about nitrous.......hehe
