stevepeanut Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 does anyone make homebrew? I used to make it for a brief spell in my teens when I was out of work. I was looking at the kits in the local wilkinsons and I think I might have another go at making some. I used to get the northern ale kits which were ok, but I was advised home brew lager is the best but never tried it. The missus is gonna get a wine kit too and make a few bottles. Any keen brewers on here?
Fishtailparka Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 I make a few gallons of cider now and then. Nice stuff too.

julian.jay Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 I have made beer and cider for many years. I used to make John Bull Cider but they stopped making it so I now use Brewmaker. By adding extra sugar you can get it up to about 6 % by volume. I was lucky about 20 years ago to obtain 60 x 2 pint bottles so I can always have a supply in the cellar. I also make beer Brewmaker Victorian for bitter and Muntons Stout for a dark one. I have 4 x 5 gallon barrels, picked up on ebay for £25 (I am not really an alchoholic honestly).
