Silverback Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Under the wing near the drivers door part of the car (no idea what it's called sorry). As you can see from the pics below mine is in dire need of repair after the guy before me managed to totally bodge the job up. Any pics would be a great help so I've got a good idea in my head as to what I need to do. Also, what thickness/gauge steel should I be looking at useing to make the repairs?
Rick Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 thats the fillet part and then you can just buy the wing rail to continue from that
samurai Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 The last time i measured the thickness of the factory metal on my mex it was 1mm thick...
Fishtailparka Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 I always use 1.2mm steel. 1mm is a bit thin in my opinion and 1.5 is too hard to bend.
samurai Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 A mixture of 1mm and 1.2mm car Best is to keep the same thickness and buy a good welder to do top welding jobs
