its soemthing that only time, history and age can create.

 

scrapping off your paintwork and covering it in salty water just looks like its being made.

 

you cant make an oak tree grow over night. for the real thing it takes time.

making your car look old and battered, i dont get. however seeing a well used old ford, being driven every day, regardless of value with the odd dent ding and bit of rust is as cool as it gets. real fords and real drivers use and abuse there car on a daily basis so achieve patena anyway. scraping paint off and giving a car fake patena is cheating.

incase you aint guessed i use my mk1 2 door every day no matter the weather, its got rust, a dented rear quater and rear bumper. it aint no trailer queen or phony rat look car, its the real deal, a ford, used and abused for the last 10 years as they should be.

if you want the rat look go for it, or just use and enjoy the car and it will get ratted in time anyway.

point well made mate, people need to remember that you are talking about someones pride and joy, and besides variety is the spice of life, id rather see someone do something out of the ordanary with there car

haha, they have been taken off and thrown in the bin this weekend, got round headlights and ford lettering grill fitted now. just have'nt updated any pics.

 

you should realise it's a project mate it aint staying that way at all.

a rat car is a car that looks a little rough bit goes like stink, does,nt mean the car has to have loads of bare metal rusting a way, there`s a rather tasty mk3 tina in matt bkack running a cossie and looks rough but goes like a screeming banshee

I think the rat look looks really cool on the right car as long as it's done properly and not forced. The vee dub and hot rod boys usually get it right

I think genuine old patina and worn paint suits 60's/70's Fords far better.

The square headlights on my my 4door Ghia were a bit dull looking. So I've just bought some brand new square ones. A perfect compliment to the lairy pinto now sitting in the bay me thinks..
