Meet the guy at another address (ie not your home address) if he wants to view the car and tell him that you will only release the car once the cheque has cleared into your bank (ie 5 working days after banking it) :thumbsup:

surely anyone who can give you a cheque can supply a bankers draft instead :?

 

yeah thats what i thought, and they cant spell for shit either...

them bank cheuqes can be dodgy aswell be carefull of all payment..

id follow it up but dont disclose where car is untill your happy..if he has a deep pikey accent hang up

i cant spell to good so dont let that put you off :shock:

 

cant you take car to diff location just for viewing purpose then when if he comes back to knick it it wont be there

Even notes can be dodgey, a mate of mine got done like that even though there were, to the untrained eye, not dodgey.

 

Everytime I have sold a car I have met the guy at a bank (they always have car parks) and paid the money straight in to my account so its checked by the bank.. perhaps i'm over cautious.

 

But with a car like that mate you have no reason to rush, its an absolute minter and someone will pau top dollar for it

as the other's said any thing can be forged including bankers drafts the best way i found of checking money is when counting it rub your thumb on the "bank of england" it should be embosed and it doesn't notice that your checking it but you are :mrgreen:

cheers chaps. iv heard of cheques bouncing way after theyve cleared.

 

good idea taking them to the bank though, cant lose then :thumbsup:
