bloody rear foglights

just been to Derby and back to take my brother for his operation and on the way back i followed a Skoda Fabia VRs.

 

it is foggy and a touch icey out so i wasnt in a rush and happy to sit behind this car, had been following it for about 3miles through the fog when the driver decides to put there rear foglights on

 

did they not think that i might know that they are infront of me? fookin doughnut, so i gave them a bit of full beam (if im getting glared by their rear fogs, they are getting my fullbeam in there mirrors).

 

it took about another 4 miles of this for them to switch them off at which time i switched back to dipped beam

 

anyone else get pissed off by that?

fog lights are there for a reason, that reason is when your normal lights cant be seen clearly in heavy fog, unfortuately some idiots use them in the slightest bit of fog and yes its bloody annoying.

my thought is, have them on untill someone is behind you, not put them on when they have been following you

Yep, winds me up too!!!! Also people at night who sit in a queue of traffic with their foot on the brake. Those brake lights are often high and just as bright as fog lights.

Dont get me started again on fog lights, i dont think iv ever seen it in a built up area where you cant see other peoples normal lights so why do they need extra bright ones on, AND why do they have them on the front of cars???? Are headlights not bright enough, iv got them on my other car and have never ever used them, oh and tw**s in corsas who have them on all the time, OMG, and now iv noticed they are making them HID which is even fooking brighter, i must be getting old because i just dont get it!!!

Because fog doesnt touch the ground. The idea is that your fog lights have a different beam pattern so the illuminate underneath the fog rather than sending the headlight beam into a mass of water droplets

thats one of my major hates f***ing idiots who have front fogs on all the time , im forever flashing em . i did get sum bloke to turn his off when he came up behind me , i thort it must be foggy so i put my rear ones on

i dont mind them being in the distance on country roads because the last thing you want is a car to suddenly appear out of the thick fog, but to put them on when a car has already been following you for a while

Whats even worse is that therell be people running round with them still on for weeks now.

Absolutely loads of cars round here with their rear fog lights on. In 11 years of driving, I have only had to use my rear fog lamps ONCE, and that was last year on the A3 on the way back from Portsmouth. It was that bad, I was travelling at 40MPH.

 

I think the law states that fog lights should only be used when visibility is down to 6 yards (or might be meters)

I only use the rear fogs when needed, which isn't often. Its the chavs who only use there side lights and fogs any time in any weather that do my head in. They must think it makes them look good

iirc they need to put the rear foglights on so the front foglights come on.

on citroen c2's it is the same, you HAVE to have the rear foglight on before you can switch the front foglights on!

its to stop chavs running around with their front fogs on all the time i guess?

 

 

but yeh, on my old car i fitted foglights as low as possible and the difference they make in fog is amazing, turn car down to sidelights and put foglights on and you can actually see the road, rather than lighting up the fog ahead

 

just a little insight to the crapness of modern cars =)
