I scanned a load of old Street Machine mags for another forum I'm on , in amongst which were a fair few old Fords so thought you'd like to see them , wondering how many are still around today ?

 

In no particular order then..

3.0 V6 mk3 cal look Cortina in VW/Audi Cadiz orange..

Granzilla , '75 Granada coupe , 3" roof chop , P6 rear lights and wing sections lengthened 8-9inches , pillarless+frameless windows , split front screen with extending roofline to match . 3.5 V8 .

December 95 cover car and I loved this one , 300E Thames van , 3.9 Rover V8 , narrowed Volvo 240 axle .

Feb 96 cover car , and yes it used to be a MK1 ..

RS2000 front end , Cav MK3 door handles , Chevy 350ci 5.7l , Ford Galaxy narrowed axle.

The December 93 cover car , '59 Zephyr , Ford 315ci , Jag axle , roof chopped 2 1/2" , rear doors welded up , Golf indicators , Civic door handles , Consul tail lights.

 

 

 

 

So , how many are still around today ?

 

I know Granzilla is and I know the Chevy engined Zephyr is - how many more are ? If you know what happened to any of them please tell all and stick some pics up of what they look like today !

this was the first project car that street machine did i was still at school but worked for auto refinnishing services weekend and school hols and helped out a bit on this

I had a few letters printed but never kept the copies.

LOW LID is still going, was probably owned by nicky kemp

when that was done.

a guy called sean crow owned it when i worked on it.

the mk1 escort with mk2 front was dutch house member,

and the last one is tony zammit`s zephyr, he still has it and has been sitting on bricks on his parents drive for about 10 odd years.

that first picture of the orange cortina is from the first car mag I ever bought - I remember thinking that car looked the absolute danglies at the time - still looks pretty good now :D

this was the first project car that street machine did i was still at school but worked for auto refinnishing services weekend and school hols and helped out a bit on this

This Rover was found by Street Machine in the early 90s ,its was rotten and had been stood in Bristol area for years ,it promptly diappeared as the garage site it was on was cleared .

Im sure the grille and wheels turned up on another rover done in Metalflake red at Bromley about 10 of years ago

 

The NSRA site is trying find some of these sort of cars

The Orange Cortina was painted blue in the 90s but even when those Street Machine pics were taken it was starting to rust through ,so guess it died in the 90s (thats when it was last taxed)

Ljc69 was owned by Les Cousins who built Discotrucker ,that plates is now on a Land Rover 2005 model

Guess hes out of the car scene now havent seen him in years

the metallic blue two door mk2 zephyr is still owned by tony zammit who built it.

its has sat for approx 10 years under a cover in his parents front garden in swanley kent.

i spoke to tony a few months ago when i did a delivery to his workshop

i asked when the mk2 would be on the road again with a smile he said "one day!"

i remember seeing that a pic off it rotting away but that was years back

 

i also worked on the true grit mini tribute to john wayne which was featured in sm if some one can find that

the blue mk1 escort with mick1 on the plate is owned by my mate

he's had it at least 25 yrs it's still in his garage awaiting repairs after going into the back of a parked car about 5 yrs ago
