Anything old skool gets called a "banger" by people who don't understand cars. These people can often be heard saying that new cars are more reliable, and other stupid comments of this kind..

When I had Retro Als car in , this bloke walks in asking about servicing his car ... i asked what it was and he said a Yaris .. whatever that is .. i said no, he then said the words that makes my blood boil..

" you into banger racing then "

ignorance is bliss ...they say

As for Grannies ... well you always love ya old granny

Some folk are just unbelievable

do they live on another planet or just braindead :?::?::?:

Oh and Granny's are deffo old skool, loved a mk2 ever since my older brother had a mk2 ghia back in 88/89 maybe and he used to drop me off at school and i thought i was the bees knees being dropped riding in a 'posh' car :lol::lol:

The end of the day granada's are cool mate infact any old ford is cool, thats why were all here, and if theres ignorant idiots who consider the cars we love as rust buckets sod them what do they know?

Its a bit like the Matrix the blue pill or red one choose to live in ignorance drive a yaris or some other plastic poo or learn about real cars and drive an osf?

A Yaris in 10 years time if its lucky will be in a scrap yard or we will be drinking Pepsi out of it.

Where will the osf be on show at the ace or kicking modern ass on the strip fact!

A mark 2 granny is proper old skool, with a bloody grut stonking 2.8 v6 under the hood, proper old skool was well ahead of its time the ghia x had air con the lot, people are too busy calling them banger racing cars now these days and actually forgetting the mk2 granada in its day was the luxury/executive ford!! it was more luxurious than a mercedes or bmw of the time and was often the favorite for buisnessmen, unfortunately they stopped making the granada mk2 a year before i was born, my dad used 2 have one and i loved it, then he sold it and replaced it with a sierra sapphire!!! and his mate used 2 love granny mk2's that was all he had for a long time, i can remember him having about 4 mk2 granadas (not all at the same time) and only recently has he stopped running mk2 granadas and bought a nissan nirvara truck.

sadly tho as we all know the mk2 granada (also mk1 granada mk4 and mk5 cortinas) are a favorite with banger racers, i will hold my hand up and say i have connection's with the world of oval racing, but have never had a lot 2 do with bangers and i think its sacrilidge 2 see a mk2 granada on the banger track, as long as i can remember a mk2 granada has been the favorite car because they are so strong!, and you still see them now, at each meeting there can be up to 20 odd mk2 granny's at times at bigger meetings more!! and you wonder where they still get em from, surely they must b drying up of supply, but they still manage 2 find them. im afraid this will always b a problem for all mk2 granada owners,

all i ask is on oldskoolford we should remember the mk2 granada as an iconic classic executive motor car, and not refer 2 them as bangers!!

its just not fair!!
