mk1super Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 Right problem When i turned on Hifi i noticed no sound coming out of left speaker so i disconected it and plugged it into right side it worked so speaker is fine i then plugged back in left left right right and left one didnt work again for a laugh i pluged left into right and right into left and it worked Now both speakers are clearly marked left and right so i deffo didnt plug em in the wrong way both are now working crossed over, i just wonder how long for Now i ask what could cause the above problem? Warrenty has run out by 5 months Could it end up being costly to repair?
richie_stix Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 i would say a dodgey connection... and by switching them about you got it to connect better? a speaker is a simple thing, so it isn't fussed which channel you put it out... you can even bridge one half left channel and one half right channel to get a mono speaker!
Trevmk3 Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 the speaker that is giving you jip, connect it and if it isnt working wriggle the lead near the jack to see if the connection is loose inside it, the same if it does work wriggle it and see if it stops
gpcmatric Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 does it have the red and black terminals are they the type that pinch the wire?it could be whats called a dry joint where the solder connection needs re soldering either in back of stereo or speaker.
marky4 Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 stop playing your old mono records on your hifi

Copey Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 if it works when you plug left into right and right into left then just do that n swap the speakers over
mk1super Posted February 17, 2009 Author Report Posted February 17, 2009 if it works when you plug left into right and right into left then just do that n swap the speakers over Clever cloggs
Copey Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 thats your problem then, aiwa make a good sound but dont last!! just swap the speakers over, simple option
BIGKEV Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 you know why they are called Aiwa? its the sound that the guy who has to fix it makes when he sees one come in for repair.....again and again
