bigdaz27 Posted March 2, 2009 Author Report Posted March 2, 2009 Try and get along to your local meet or a show when they all start, and dont be afraid to introduce yourself If you dont want to introduce yourself then do something stupid to get yourself noticed As Antz says, many of us have been on the site for longer than is probably healthy, we've met a lot of each other at shows, got slaughtered together and misbehaved on the Dodgems. This social side obviously has a good knock on affect on the site. Thats not to say we dont want you here if you cant get to shows or your local meet isnt very local. Often, The responses you will get depends on who is using the site when you ask a question. If the people who are here dont know the answer then they obviously cant post. Someone who could answer your question might log on later, but may not even see your question because it has dropped down the board and onto the previous page, sometimes a little bump can work wonders a little bump ?

The thing is ... we are a pretty active club on the web and off the web (as you probably have realised) and as such we get to meet up with each other now and then. This has meant that we have become friends (with some people ) and the banter that friends have is evident in most of our posts on this site This, however, does NOT mean that we do not welcome new people, old, young, black, white, OSF owner or not ... hell, we even let northerners and Scots on here sometimes but at the end of the day, all our interests are the same - we love the cars and we enjoy the social side of OSF as well You really need to get yourself to Classic Ford Show week-end at Santa Pod on the week-end of May 30th/31st and camp over with us on the Saturday night You will be most welcome and so will any new visitor to this forum If you are disappointed with your membership payment though, I will be happy to refund you because we want you to feel a part of the big ole OSF family that we try to be As has been said before, some posts go unanswered but that is not a personal attack on you OR anyone else ... the site is well used (and abused ) and posts move down the page so fast sometimes that they don't get seen by everyone in time to be answered. I'm sure you may have found that on some sites you can ask a question and not bother returning for 3 days or more because you know that the post will not have moved much .... this site is not like that There will ALWAYS be some people who hate this site, some people that like to slag off the site (on other sites ), and this site is NOT for everyone but you can't please everyone (although we do try hard to ). Please enjoy the site, enjoy the company of your fellow enthusiasts and don't worry ... your wife and kids will never get it but they will learn to live with it
