I know what you mean fella. We arent clicky as far as i know. There is that element of meeting the people personally and you usually find after you meet people you get on better with them. I was a member for 2 years before I met anyone on this site and friendships do form from it. But just cso yoru new doesnt mean you should be left you....your family to the osf site and your contribution is greatly appreciated (i hope  ). I am not any fancy admin so im speaking just from being a member.

some of us have been members on here for a few years now so are part of the furniture. And with the community the size it is then it can be daunting to new members and with all the convos going on it can feel like newbies are being pushed out.

weather your post gets 1 reply or 94 is really irrelevant...sometimes they are hijacked with is a right ballache....your post about wanting to know to fit a 2.0 pinto in a fiesta is taken over by some dude discussing his lunch :lol:

then just reading my reply doesnt answer yours...DOH!

I don't know what to say. Don't take this the wrong way, have you tried answering stuff as well as asking? It's like anything else mate, you get out what you put in. Sorry if I have missed something you have said in the past, or somebody has said to you. I for one wouldn't try to push anybody out.

Mate, I can assure you it's nothing to do with your good self. Posts getting lack of replys is something that happens, if people are interested and want to reply, they will. Also, OSF is a very fast moving site, so posts often fall off the first page of each room very quickly if left ananswered.

If there is anything in particular you are referring to, you can always PM me the link to the thread and I can pass it onto the rest of the Admin.

I was much like yourself, I only have one or two friends that are into classic cars, and one year at Fiesta In The Park (2006) I saw a few cars there with OSF window stickers, so thought I would join up... i'm still here nearly 3 years later, and the people I have met are all very nice.

Chin up mate, I can assure you it's nothing personal :thumbsup:

the site is not "clicky" some of us have more banter with each other as we know each other from meets & being friends. The site is run very well & very well monitored & ALOT of hard work goes into the site that we don't realise about. OSF is a site that is here to be enjoyed,by us all. :ykt:

Hi mate were not clicky at all,

We dont mind what car you have or where you come from, it's a bit like when you move to a new area, you visit your local for the first time and you done know anyone, then after a few visits  you start to get to know people on first name terms

Come to some of the summer shows mate, we dont bite....... well some of them do, but we can point them out

ok in your opinion its not clicky and i applaud you all for having the bolloxs

to say what you think but in my opinion its very easy to think that its clicky and new people dont seam to be able to join in very easy if every one had the bolloxs to say what they thought then thing would be that much better ive always been told if you think some ones a mary then call them a mary then every one knows were they are

I was trying to be a more active member of a more local club to me and tbh i didnt feel that welcome, i must be one of the few scots on this site (Wish there was more of us smellies to get meets goin on up ere) and i aint been to any osf meets as yet i do intend at some point( When escorts running good) to get darn sarf an meet up with as many as i can.

On any forum you will encounter some you wont have much in common with and you will find theres a few you hit it off with and they become good mates.

And its just the same on bike forums some questions get a million replies and some stump everyone and get lots of views and no replies.

Stick in daz, also get on msn its a good way of getting to know people on site, but dont nobble any of the birds i did on a bike forum and got banned for being a "Forum whore":oops: She was worth it though :mrgreen:

You lot smell and can't be in my gang (clique) any more

Sometimes people just don't know the answer to a question, or respond differently to the way it's written.

And being a bit 'childish' as you say is deffo likely to help you 'round here. It's my middle name ;)

Sometimes it takes a while for people to get to know members on the site. have you been to any meets or met anyone from the site yet m8?

no i havent been to any meets as most seam to be a bit far prehaps im being a bit parannoyed witch might be down to the jamaican woodbines i smoked in my youth :D

TBH when I first joined the site I couldn't even work out how to post  I gave up and by the time I came back to try again I couldn't remember my ID or login so signed up again.

At first it seemed to me (and I assumed) that everone knew each other personally as everyone seemed to talk as if they were on first name terms and had been hanging out together pre - OSF, so I guess initially I thought it was a bit cliquey too. Pretty soon however I realised I was wrong and it was mostly just banter between strangers who shared a common interest. Here I am 3 or 4 years later with a huge spam count to my name :mrgreen:

Oh and part of the reason that "stupid" (I personally don't believe any question is stupid if the person asking doesn't know the answer) questions get more responses than sensible (lets call them harder instead) questions is that there are plenty of people capable of answering the easy ones but it often takes the right member to spot the tricky one in amongst them. Plus, as has already been said, the post count moves quite quickly so they often get missed. I often make a point of looking back through the unanswered posts to see if there's anything there I can answer.

Anyway, welcome to the site  Join in and I'm sure any doubts you have will pass.

Try and get along to your local meet or a show when they all start, and dont be afraid to introduce yourself

If you dont want to introduce yourself then do something stupid to get yourself noticed

As Antz says, many of us have been on the site for longer than is probably healthy, we've met a lot of each other at shows, got slaughtered together and misbehaved on the Dodgems. This social side obviously has a good knock on affect on the site. Thats not to say we dont want you here if you cant get to shows or your local meet isnt very local.

Often, The responses you will get depends on who is using the site when you ask a question. If the people who are here dont know the answer then they obviously cant post. Someone who could answer your question might log on later, but may not even see your question because it has dropped down the board and onto the previous page, sometimes a little bump can work wonders
