overcharging problem?

just noticed there is fluffy white deposits around the bottom of my battery, obviously this is battery acid but why is it happening and where is it seeping from and could the car be overcharging? now im running a 2.0 i have upgraded the alternator to a 2.0 one but surely that cant be a problem?

the battery isnt overfull and i have a breather pipe thet deposits under the car..

ive washed all the deposits off and washed the battery too.

any ideas?

Check the charging with a meter, max should be 14.75 volts at full charge anything over that the regulator is not working.

Boiling water from the kettle and baking sode to neutralise the acid or wave byby to you battery tray in a few months

i washed it all down with hot soapy water so it should be ok, there wasnt a massive amount to start with

the battery maybe fine but if the alternator is faulty (regulator circuit) then itl over charge the battery, basically boil it and so all the acid comes out.

Get some vaseline and cover the terminals in it to stop it coming back.
