sixtyeightmk2 Posted March 18, 2009 Author Report Posted March 18, 2009 just wondering how much did that cost you in fuel? looks like an awesome drive...as ant said when we did florida to the keys, the journey took so long due to the speed limit! Not having overdrive seems to cost me a bit, so far about $38, so both ways its going to cost about $80 round trip. Spent 4 times that just driving from London to Wales in October!!!
mk1super Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Did you see any Rods out Bakersfield way? And the car sounds good

Mrs O/H/C Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 And for the ladies ... some californian hunks in shorts
tazrocks88 Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Just under 6 hours or so, probably closer to 5 1/2 hours... She stalled on me when I got off the "freeway" aka motorway to take a trip down the Santa Susana Pass, it's one of our most famous spots that people do shots for test drive shows, commercials and other types of stuff... Except with the budget crisis the road looks like absolute hell... Here are some random shots of California and Nevada from the past couple months, and the trip from this week - Also took some video of the trip up something we call the Grapevine, my Cortina looks like an ant next to some of the SUVs and freight trucks that were rolling up next to me. - This is the reason I want to update a lot of stuff on my car, suspension and brakes mostly - our roads are getting worse every day, and so are the drivers. Here's a brief Wiki about the area, Manson used to live near the house! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Susana_Pass thats awsome looks like u get some cheep miles compared 2 us tho
sixtyeightmk2 Posted March 20, 2009 Author Report Posted March 20, 2009 If you ever get to come to California and like ghost towns, you should really see a small town near the border of Nevada called Bodie. Oh and I got some real photos of the time down here, but I have not had a chance to upload them yet.
sixtyeightmk2 Posted March 20, 2009 Author Report Posted March 20, 2009 Okay getting ready to head back to Sacramento now! See ya guys later.

sixtyeightmk2 Posted March 20, 2009 Author Report Posted March 20, 2009 Couldn't hurt! I did the same thing when I was 21, but I went to New Zealand after I lost my dot com job. That got me into these damn Fords! I highly recommend leaving and doing something, but also study and get some new skills while you're out and about!

sixtyeightmk2 Posted March 22, 2009 Author Report Posted March 22, 2009 Hey this is off topic, but will any of you be attending Hot August Nights? http://www.hotaugustnights.net/ Its a pretty big show we have over here. I was thinking if I get my car done in time for the show, which is a really slim possibility, I might enter it in the show as well But if anyone is interested in going to this years event let me know, it's not far from Sacramento.
