4parajon Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 More importantly, the capri is ready. Been planning this for a while now and tomorrow I'm going on a special journey.....well special to me anyway. The plan is to do best part of 400miles across the finest, twistiest roads that North Wales has to offer. I've checked the car over and barring the battery being a bit loose on its shelf, everything is ticketyboo. I was going to be doing this trip with Sprocket but unfortunately his car is'nt ready, but hopefully we'll do one together this year. Here's the planned route as it stands at the mo, bearing in mind I have to travel 70miles to get to the start line. Thanks to Sprocket for the maps

4parajon Posted April 11, 2009 Author Report Posted April 11, 2009 Well, just got back. I set off at 4am as I wanted to make sure I missed all the traffic as its a bank holiday. I did'nt do some of the roads I wanted as my car is just too low for 'em.......or the roads are too shite. I turned back on a couple as I kept bottoming out. Was a good blast, enjoyed it. Took some pics This one is just outside Betws on the A5, its just getting light and I only had my fone, hence why it's shite I took these on Llanberis Pass, notice how I'm higher than the mist, was quite eerie Took these around Capel Curig The last few were taken at The Ponderosa cafe near The Horshoe Pass, had a nice brekkie there yum yum (cheers Sprocket) As you can tell from the pics, the weather was perfect. The car never missed a beat, all set for the Lakes Tour now

capriz Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 looks well good the roads there are made for a good blast in a quality blue oval nice pics
bmxdave Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 I spent a lot of my youth in the back of me dads car nailing it about those roads, and as i got older hanging off the back of his bikes and they are trully epic. Horseshoe pass is great and the pondy is a spot on place to stop for a break. Its like a little checkpoint for the bikes and cars that go through there. Im waiting till the summer then at 4 on a sunday morning im going to fill the tank up, make some butties and head for the hills, at full pelt. Avoiding the Evil Welsh bobbies though.
