i had an 02 wrx that had done 92k that run fine, but it was regularly serviced. i think if its been looked after, should be fine mate.

Make sure it's had regular cam belt changes Chris,

 

I think its every 40k for a sport

 

and about 30k for turbos,

get a volvo allready safe realiable family cars and they can move if you put your foot down

also they are safe for the little'un

Its Jap, so as long as its been looked after, it should be fine

Mine has got 190,000km on the clock. Has been serviced regularly. Cambelt changed every 3 years (or 45k). Looked after. Allowed to cool down after EVERY run. Driven hard. No worries It had 76,000km on it when I got it almost 7 years ago.

 

Don't forget they are very juicy .... I get 20 1/2 to the gallon on a mixed run (round town/long run).

And the sports are just as bad on fuel. But as long as theyve been looked after there a great motor mate

Had mine about 4 months now picked it up from a main dealer with 61000 miles and got them to fully service and cam belt it for me in the deal. cracking car but not something to have if your on a budget i can just about justify having it as my daily driver returning @23 mpg urban driving and into the 10's if hard Remember to budget for services can be expencive and you wont be changing the plugs yourself on the driveway!

 

When i have i little one i thing a volvo T5 will be in the offing, 5cyl turbo and 245bhp if you find a T5 R Yum Yum .Hope this helps
