Mrs O/H/C Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 In my opinion ... instead of e-mails,letters etc i would go in person to apply for jobs. It shows that you are willing to put yourself out there 4 a job and also they can get a better picture about you in person unlike a bit of paper. I am a manager/owner of a business and i am more willing to give someone a chance if i have seen them in person. Good Luck
2.8i Cossie Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 PM sent Local fuzz sending pm...never a good sign!! lol Why not contact the local tech and see what apprenticeships are available? I started sparking at 20 and am now working as a bid manager! I agree that people are more likely to be interested in you if you personally take in a CV and even try to speak to the person responsible instead of the receptionist. There is plenty out there you just have to look.
stevepeanut Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 top tip mate Information computer technology: fail I would remove that and not mention it at all, a blank space will look better than saying you failed something
Daggle Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 PM sent Local fuzz sending pm...never a good sign!! Mate, if a thick twat like me can get in the old bill by spouting the crap that other people want to here then I can sort out a CV, Im on it
stevepeanut Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 heres a story I heard on the news, a guy had been looking for a job for months and no luck. He stuck a fooking huge sign on a roundabout in busy town, something like "male, 28, driving licience, looking for work" and his mobile number under it, and he got 12 calls straight away ps have you tried local loft/cavity wall places, I've been in this work a while, and they are always looking to hire staff, often young lads, who will work as a drivers mate, driver gets 70% of wage, young helper lad, gets 30%
Deano1351 Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Feel for ya mate, maybe look round your area for builders vans and give them a knock, its not mechanics but they love good labour and if your good it will pay well, just a suggestion, good luck fella
