LGreen Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 This is my first posts with pictures so hope it works. Found this old Selmar car alarm in a shell that was sent to the scrappers. Its a selmar and has the code BI-5 iss2 inside it on printed circuit board. its got five wires coming from it but i dont know what connects to which. I know they worked by turning them on with a key so assume thats a couple of wires sorted, then you'l have a feed then alarm and surely and earth which makes five but dont know if thats right or which ones which. Any info would be helpful. thought it would be cool to have an old alarm in a car one day so thought i'd try and get it working. also going to make some window stickers up with same design to try and deter thieving little sh#ts as got a flashing LED as well. cheers lgreen
Admin Vista Posted May 12, 2009 Admin Report Posted May 12, 2009 TBH honest mate I wouldn't waste your time. It's way outdated technology and would take a car thief a second to get around something it took you an hour or two to fit.
LGreen Posted May 12, 2009 Author Report Posted May 12, 2009 was mainly going to do it for a period feature. just thought it would be something different. not sure of the date of this tho. could have been fitted later in the cars life tho as it looks very basic.
