If you sell a car and it goes to Southern Ireland, is that classed as Export?

Yes, it's even classed as Export if it goes to Northern Ireland as they have their own equivalent of DVLA.

 

I sold a car over to Ireland recently, you have to give him the registration document, but fill and send off the export section (11) of the V5C and send it off t DVLA, also to ensure that it doesn't stay in your name, you need to write to DVLA giving them the new owners name and address and the time he took the vehicle away. I'd get him to countersign the letter with his details on it too.
