MightySprocket Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 had a phone call tonight off someone who's seen my car on ebay. without viewing the car offered me £500 more than the price i gave him if he could pay via paypal said he would send a collection service of his choice not wishing to offend anyone but the guy had a kind of pissed up irish accent, im thinking pikey, also said i could deliver the car myself to him in preston and he'd pay cash but wouldn't view or collect. he claims he has a show room and has no cars, then asked can a 2 litre be fitted in one of those? + lots of strange questions that someone prepared to buy a mk1 escort without seeing it should know the answers to. seemed in a hurry too seems well dodgy to me and to anyone else selling be careful
Savvi Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 I had a similar call when i was selling my Mk2 Ghia ................ although in my case he was from Ireland paid a deposit by Pay Pal and had it collected with the balance paid to me in cash ? Sill seems strange to me as he only had pics etc but he was genuine and i have never heard from him again
4parajon Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Sounds very dodgy to me. Would you pay £8k for a car that you have never seen???

Type49 Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 Friend of mine sold his capri to someone in Ireland who paid for the lot via bank 3K and had it collected 6 weeks later! Strange, but genuine
