CapperTom Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 Hi all, At the mo im running twin 45s on my car, pinto with a mild set up but over the next year im going to build a balls out 2.1 and was wondering if the cost of bigger carbs ie 48s or 50s would see a big improvement over 45s because i have them already and therel be £600 or more, also which ones 48 or 50? Thanks Tom
Admin Vista Posted June 14, 2009 Admin Report Posted June 14, 2009 Stick with 45's, with the right choke and jet sizes they'll produce as much as you need and they're more useable on the road anyway.
Fiesta Steve Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 Depends on the size of the choke you want to use. If you want to go bigger than 38mm I'd go for 48s
vibrating_Cake Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 if you have 45's stick with 45's and spend more doing the rest of the engine propper . for the price of new carbies im sure being able to rev upto 9k with a silly cam on 40mm chokes in twin 45's im sure as hell know which one i'd choose stick with the 45's plenty! oh yeah, 45's are good for 200bhp easy if running properly (not on a pinto like, but they are enough for that, building an all- singing all-dancing N/A pinto you wont be aiming for more than 200 to be fair! so 45's will do!
