Dale Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 Right ... before i start. i'm not a new car hater but i was in a the shopping centre yesterday and see one of the green ones. at first i was a bit like oooo look! then as i did look it was terrible! the green on the side skirts and bumpers was noticeably a different shade green! it honestly looked like a cheap ebay kit rattle canned then stuck on. now ... if i'd just spent 25K or how ever much they are on a car.. i would not of been happy. i did get a picture but it didn't come out too well. anyone else noticed it or could it just be a one off? terrible.
4parajon Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 Personally I like them, seen a couple now up close and have'nt noticed any "quality defects".
Durham Fiesta Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 i don't mind them , had a good look around a few white ones and didn't notice any problems with the paint
Dale Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 yeah they are really cool, the only other ones i've seen have been at shows where the never really stand out to me so never really had a good look at one. but i see this one and was a bit disappointed
fezza_mat Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 im a bit un sure with them seen a couple about and that big wing on the back looks so chavy and why have 300bhp at the front wheels big waste offf time if u ask me

louie bagel Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 your right the green ones do look funny on the bumpers and skirts, blue ones are ok and the whites ones are ace, its something to do with the paint in the same way as the orange st focus' they catch the light and make different shades they're a right git to paint,
Daggle Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 im a bit un sure with them seen a couple about and that big wing on the back looks so chavy and why have 300bhp at the front wheels big waste offf time if u ask me Yeh I suppose that Ford probably thought that as it was rolling off the production line after all the deveopment they have put into it.... It will be awesome and an instant collectors item.
Wessie Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 i think there the bollox went to see one last week, if they drive anything like the ST does then i cant wait to have a go !

emu Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 alot of boy racer's/chav's nowadays cant handle RWD Its Ok wessie, they have a natural ability to powerslide perfectly because they passed their test in a Daewoo Matiz three weeks ago Oh, and the new Focus...........Instant classic

mk1super Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 I went to me local ford dealer to have a nose at one but it hadnt arrived yet seems theres a back log at Ford And they havent built enough of em to supply demand
Admin Vista Posted June 25, 2009 Admin Report Posted June 25, 2009 I like the look of it, I'm sure it drives well and handles great.....................but I can spend a lot less than Fords list price of £25k and get a much better used car. A quick search reveals a three year old 26000 mile M3 Coupe for £18k I know which'll be the better drivers car. The Focus will probably be worth the same as the M3 within 12 months anyway.
fezza_mat Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 the other great thing with the focus is the amount of passenger space, i can easily sit in the back of one of them (one of the only vehicles i can!) if they used a 4wd or RWD system then they'd loose alot of interior space, making the car alot less 'useable' and alot of boy racer's/chav's nowadays cant handle RWD not being funny or anything but why would you want to sit in the back of a 300hp monster and that is a pretty boring excuse for not goin RWD the last bit a agree shocking some off the people that pass
emu Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 not being funny or anything but why would you want to sit in the back of a 300hp monster and that is a pretty boring excuse for not goin RWD You have a wife (or husband), three 6ft tall, 15 year old kids and a Chihuahua. Some people need practical cars, but practical doesnt need to mean boring
bmxdave Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 Id like one in Diamond white. Its an important car and harks back on Fords RS history, and in my opinion SHOULD have been FWD. I love my RWD cars as much as anyone else, i even have a purpose built drift car, but i find it just as fun scrabbling along a country lane at silly speeds. Im sure plenty will end up with Cossie running gear, everything else does. Personally, id buy an early ST3 and drop the remaining £10-15,000 on go faster stuff and go far faster.

garyv6100e Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 I would love to have a focus RS as for how much it would be worth in a couple of years i think it will hold on to its value really well , look at the Escort cosworth good ones still command a price of over £10k where as an M3 of the same age would only be worth about £5k
