antz Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 id like to know this i use solvol and t-cut. but i havent done it in about 2 months and the salt has made them look shit. need to do it again
over_head_cam Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 Keep 'em clean too it stops them tarnishing
tim Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 get them all clean and polished up then lacque them
Admin Vista Posted December 22, 2006 Admin Report Posted December 22, 2006 I was advised against laquering them when I had mine machine polished, it looks great, but the slightest chip out of the laquer will let water in behind it. Then it goes opaque and there's bugger all you can do to get it shining again but strip all the laquer off. Touch of metal polish regularly keeps them looking nice.
groomers Posted December 22, 2006 Author Report Posted December 22, 2006 yeah i laquered my old revo's but dont like the finish prefer them when there bare an polished! been told that you can get something to put on to protect them but mate didnt know what it was called or where to get it!
Admin Vista Posted December 22, 2006 Admin Report Posted December 22, 2006 I was just told to use normal car wax polish over the top. it forms a good barrier and is easy enough to remove to repolish them.
Guest M.Bird DOHC Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 have you tried waxing them m8! I know it sounds made but it may make um last a bit longer, either that or grease um up for winter time!
over_head_cam Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 Drop of autoglym super resin would work (brought my wardrobes up lovely )
groomers Posted December 22, 2006 Author Report Posted December 22, 2006 will have to try that tomorrow. how well does the wax cope with the heat though as my brakes get well used!
johnny_h Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 Drop of autoglym super resin would work (brought my wardrobes up lovely ) What he said, I just polished my rims with autosol and put a coat of autoglym on top.

100ejohn Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 I would agree with steve on the wax thingy, also i work at a wheel and tyre shop and when we sell chromes and things alike we've advise to buy an expensive option called supergaurd.
