evil knievel Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Sounds very odd any pics? maybe its gods way of saying plastic is not so fantastic
bigglesmk2 Posted September 5, 2009 Author Report Posted September 5, 2009 I know plastic is so un-fantastic but its a 52 plate and was a hand me down from the missus sister. Getting so ****** off with it now ,think the tester is being a prick he past the other sisde and thats got play in it .
Tom Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 is it the rear one? they all have play in the rear top mounts when the suspension's hanging - you can contest it with vosa or change tester
bigglesmk2 Posted September 5, 2009 Author Report Posted September 5, 2009 Its the front one. Gonna put a new wishbone on and see how that goes. The rubbers look well past thier best but he didnt fail it for that
evil knievel Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 I had a friend with one of these and it had SERIOUS play- got it fixed and still had minor play. maybe just a KA thing?
emu Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 How much play has it got in it? Ka's can have some play in the front and the rears and still pass
vibrating_Cake Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 the ka's are really bad for this... your tester is looking in the wrong place, tell him to check the lower arm bushes instead of the top mount bushes, 99% of the time the lower arm bushes/arms are wrecked on ka's my bro has one, and his other half had one, in a year we have replaced 3 sets, one each MOT the lower arm will cause play which will be reflected in the top mounts. just a hunch from experience the top mounts are usually fine
bigglesmk2 Posted September 5, 2009 Author Report Posted September 5, 2009 Cheers guys, will see what mot man says on monday
bigglesmk2 Posted September 7, 2009 Author Report Posted September 7, 2009 Whoop de dooo I told him i'd had a play around with it but couldnt sort the problem and that i'd had a second opinion from another mechanic and they had said it was ok. I had my scruffs on to look like a grease monkey and the tester looked me up and down and said thats fine i'll pass it. I think if i had sent the missus back with it he'd fail it again
bigglesmk2 Posted September 7, 2009 Author Report Posted September 7, 2009 Taking the mondeo for it's test at 1:30
