escort21 Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 My cappa sold on ebay for 3000grand which is 500quid less than i wanted, the guy whos wants it is from Ireland and i'll never see it again or be able to afford another one like it/all the good bits its got on it too...but i'm not using it and its gonna be outside on a main road just sitting there all winter...what should I do??
Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 15, 2009 Admin Report Posted September 15, 2009 Get your name on the council garage register ..... we pay £7 per week to rent one Sounds quite clear to me that you are not ready to let go of it yet and you WILL regret it Halfords do a lovely 3 layer waterproof, breathable car cover for just over £50 to protect it in the meantime
escort21 Posted September 15, 2009 Author Report Posted September 15, 2009 I was offered a council garage in the worst area of town....the one they offered me was the only one with a lock the rest had been broken into ..its about a 5year wait round here for one , i'm gonna keep the car i think
RossMK2 Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 take it all apart and rebuild it in house
aden Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 take it all apart and rebuild it in house you've got a point

zetecmk2 Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 buy an island!! 3000k is ok for a capri!!
Yeomans22 Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 my capri is staying on the drive all winter, i going to buy a cheap gaxebo and cut the legs down to keep some of the weather off it, if ur leaving it in the road, ask around friends or family id they know anyone with a garage that u could possibly use over the winter.
caprigirl Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 Seems to all of us that you don't want to part with it, listen to the guys on here and I am sure you will come up with a way to keep it safe over winter. Good luck hope you don't have to part with it.
mutorcs Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 you could always buy mine to keep it company
MM77 Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 I'm confused mate. You said you sold it on ebay already. I'd be p!ssed if I "bought" a car and the seller then decided not to sell it. Isnt it too late to change your mind now
escort21 Posted September 16, 2009 Author Report Posted September 16, 2009 No mate it isn't, i understand that the buyer may be pissed off but if you read the ebay rules there is no legal contract until money changes hands, thats life...not selling my car because ebay says i should honour an agreement when i don't wanna sell it...simple as. And the bidding looked very suspect to me..selling for exactly the reserve...dodgy as hell....i don't care cause i'm keeping it

Mr2Caps Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 Just an idea, but in the last 'recession' I rented the shell of a part built house that a developer wasn't going to finish for a while. It was a town house with the floor joists in, roof on and windows in, garage door was in place too, guy was happy to rent it to me as I acted as an unofficial security guard for him as I was visiting the place regularly. Other houses were occupied around it so it was pretty safe. Got it for peanuts too! Maybe worth a try if you can find the right location?
