Good to see you too Sam

Some great pictures there.

Some awesome times run yesterday - the weather was perfect.

Shame my exhaust manifold broke just as I put my slicks on

Very pleased with my 13.0 on treads.

Dave College ran 10.4

I know KJ and Jason Elvy also ran PB's. I will let them tell you their times. Well done everyone though - brilliant day for racing - perhaps not so good for watching as it was a little "brisk"

The Red Fester was lovely

did he really :D:D8) i saw some young lad in it run an 11 summin next to KJ but waited on the lights which was a shame

and yes huge well done to KJ he ran a pb (hes now running the gas) but then 2 runs the car hopped forwards breaking the beam and red lighting which was a shame, tense moments trying to get the rear lights working too

a believe Steve Dray also ran a PB without gas and got to within 1/10 of his PB with gas

i saw your car up on the jack Toby and darent come over to ask if it was the gearbox

No mate just taking the prop off for towing - the oil doesn't get thrown over the gears when the box is driven from the prop end instead of the engine end. Thank you for your concern!

The 11.2 was Dave's mate - Nathan - who had never been in the car before. I think he thought he wouldn't be very popular if he'd lost it into KJ's car - hence the start!

Given how sideways he was in second I don't know who was more scared - Dave or Nathan! :ykt:

Amazing car though - to be able to let off and still do that time for a first drive was noteable!

Some great times run by all it seems, toby 13.0 on street tyres

Thanks mate.

Shame the manifold broke when I put the slicks on - although I'm not sure if the new gears will suit the slicks although on paper they should :?

I swear the more I do this sport the less I understand it!

ahh yeah i think Tony mullerd a T5 box that way on a dolly

Yeah - I learnt the hard way too. Me and my mate would be in the van saying - "did you hear that?" and "what the fooks that?"

Then got all the way to shakey in the past to find the gearbox fooked.

James Harris did one too. Be warned!

Tody .... did you manage to get onto "The" List?:thumbsup:

 I did, only he seems to have me down as toNy.

Is it that bloody difficult??:mrgreen::mrgreen:

I wish I'd stuch with the treads, I think the slicks broke an engine mount and the exhaust manifold on the first run with them.

Made a nice change from shafts and gearboxes

Toby what did you run on the slicks? or did you not make a pass due to the manifold?

No mate it broke straight away. It did 12.91, 12.92 with the exhaust on and the manifold blowing. Terminals had gone though so it was affected.

You did flippin' well 12.4 in the end? - you must be well pleased.

Thanks again for the heads

I did bloody well, it was a 12.38@108.

Ive fixed the diff problem now too.

Im going to work hard on the cortina over the winter i promise.

No worries about the heads, glad they can be some use to you.

tomB That is an excellent time!

Is it the cortina in your sig you done it in?

Is that cosworth powered?

cheers,

Jim.

It will be one day - but for now he did it in a renault 5 turbo (+ nos)

It is an amazing "budget" road car - leaves most (nearly all) expensive built R5's eating dust! 8)
