skyblueads Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Went to look at Fiesta today, took me two hours to get there, and two hours back, still, I thought this'll be worth it, I was told it was a tired but solid mkI Ghia, which is perfect (I'd love a Supersport, but cant really afford one). So I get there and it's a knackered late mkII, no rear seats, rust everywhere. The chap who had it thought the mkI/mkII were one and the same, which I guess is sort of a fair mistake to make if you're not well up on cars, but all that way for nothing. Still, the search continues I guess!
Admin Vista Posted October 29, 2009 Admin Report Posted October 29, 2009 Bummer always ask for pics before travelling.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted October 29, 2009 Admin Report Posted October 29, 2009 Oh dear That's gutting ... maybe get pics next time before you go

caprinerd Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 think alot of us have had this before hope the search comes up with something soon
skyblueads Posted October 29, 2009 Author Report Posted October 29, 2009 I couldn't get any pics as it was with an old boy who's son works with my brother-in-law, it was one of these 'friend of a friend' sort of things. Still, he was very apologetic and made me a nice cup of tea before I left, so it wasn't all bad! The one in the link is a bit beyond my budget, I want something to work on and play with, but thanks for linking it.
lotusless Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 usually they at least know the reg + that might have saved you the trip, what a bummer though
X-pack-Glyn Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I once travelled 2 and a half hours or so to look at an M reg RS2000 for 600 quid.... i got there and said "where is it mate" and he said "well its right there" pointing at a fooking mk5 escort
Mr Sam Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 the decorator told me his neighbour had an OLD fiesta sport and didnt want much for it mk3 Si still got it at bargin price and straight through an MOT and twa good fun,,,,,,,when it didnt break down
Spanner_monkey Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 I once travled 1 and a half hours to look at a late escort gti which was supposidly mint, saw pics and everything. Got there, took one look at the car, didnt even knock on the door and came home. More bumps, dints and rust than I had on my Mk1 Fiesta when I got it lol
FredTransit Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 I hate that, you wouldn't have bothered if you knew. Get this all the time with transits, for some reason people often completely miss there was a transit that ran from 1965-1978, meaning they count from the Mk2 and I end up looking at some wedge shaped thing!
