richwantsamk2 Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 hi all - may as well get it over with - i drive an escort...mk6 ghia x. i needed a tow car and it was very cheap. now come back to my senses and returning to rwd briefly - had lots of mk1/2 escorts in the 80's - and now on the lookout for a mk2 4 door...and some xr4x4 running gear. had the idea ages ago and saw it done at ford fair. have thought thru making space for gear and transfer box/shortening driveshafts to narrow front track. still thinking about diff/xmember/rack. any advice/experience would be appreciated - rich

richwantsamk2 Posted November 15, 2009 Author Report Posted November 15, 2009 and rather smart site by the way not in any other car forum thingys - and this one is keeping me away from anything to do with rs2000 4x4's - which i was considering. i live on the edge of the north york moors - lots of fast twisty roads, and i have a thing about staying on them. and i probably sawa few of you at santa pod this year - have been to a couple of shows there. hopefully next year i can get out on the strip
