MOT Time Has Come!

First time insurance for me started yesterday and first time insurance for the mex in over 15 years!

 

MOT time tomorrow for the first time in over 15 years also

Its running rich on idle and it sets off the smoke alarm in my house but once the revs are up it leans out,just want this mot so i can drive to HT to finish off tuning the engine to get some more power

 

Alittle fiddle with the bias pedalbox while at the mot station to.

 

Then off to get the tracking done.

Good and bad news but its not so bad.

 

1.Headlamps not working on dipped beam. figured out the problem now.

 

2.Rear lower shock bushes need replacing.

 

3.Hand brake needs more adjusting and driver side efficiency compared to left side is lower.

 

 

A few other things which didnt fail mot were :

 

1.Driver side wheel bearing alittle play. Easy job,take 5min.

 

2.Front disc alittle corroded. Drive it abit more and it will be fine.

 

Aside from the mot :

 

It was great driving the escort first time ever,25 min to the mot shop,at times id floor it and it just roarssss and wants to go faster.

 

At one point went past a police car on the other side of the road as i nailed it for a few seconds just to hear it roar,lucky they didnt turn around!

 

It running on only 3 pistons now! This could be it running to rich and stopping 1 plug from sparking.

 

Also the diff is wining as i take my foot off the thottle...

 

I have 10 days to sort everything now before a retest,ill sort most of it out on Monday.

As soon as i pulled out of my road onto the main road to pick up a mate people started to take an interest walking past.

 

On the way people where looking in their rear mirrors to see what the hell is that loud raorrr behide them was.

 

At the lights id give it some then look in the rear mirror to see how far back the other cars where to see nothing totally blown away

 

At the garage people crowded round asking questions like if i rally it...i said "its for shopping"

I still dont know what i hit as i looked behide me and theres no lamp post or anything...just a low curb so im confused!

Wednesday the gearbox is coming out for a check and so is the whining diff for a check and rebuild!

i know what you mean, both my cortinas are off the road and i just wanna drive em - both have gearbox probs

Mine is a clutch problem i think! It wont go into gear properly! Went up a curb being silly and the gear stick went all loose and it still works the same....has a life of its own!
