Last time we were all living in financial uncertainty, the internet was barely out of nappies....... So the overall vibe of the outside world carries through to here as well... Posts about folks out of work, or struggling at work, or worse all feed back here and bring it home to everyone else. Not that posts like that shouldn't be welcomed. One of the things that sets this site apart form others is that it is (in my opinion at least) very sociable and not just about cars. Probably means that it's going to come across as more of a barometer of society. Barometer of society? I sound like a Guardian columnist

The thought of Christmas already? I play in a band and we've been mates for over 20 years, but a couple of weeks ago we were all getting at one another for no reason. We all knew we were and know it's stupid. If you can get colds is it possible there's a miserable virus going round? Incidentally, we seem to be over it now!
