Skoty Posted December 16, 2009 Author Report Posted December 16, 2009 yer but my my 1500 bottom end is knacked anyway.
w p e Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 so weres the combustion chamber? pre/flows have flat pistons with chamberd head and vice versa so not a lot of room for valve movement
Ste-V Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 It is a term known as BHC - Bloody High Compression
Toby Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Pretty odd looking thing. Only 5 valves and 7 pushrods in the picture so some parts would need sourcing. A single pushrod fighting 2 inlet valve springs sounds like a tall order unless the rocker ratio is reduced which you would think would trade off curtain area and potentially destroy the advantage of the additional valve. The chamber shape doesn't look conducive to swirl and a fast burn. Too much squish area in my mind. And as Wayne say's you'd need funny shaped pistons on the inlet side. A nice, interesting bit of history to own but I would have my reservations over its merits. Has anyone heard of one or know if they worked well / at all?
Skoty Posted December 17, 2009 Author Report Posted December 17, 2009 yer, i just like rare and different things especially old stuff. lol and yer, where do the spark plugs go??
Fiesta Steve Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Maybe the c/r is so high it ignites itself !!
105eee Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Where do the spark plugs fit If you look at the middle pic, on the far left lower valve hole with chamber you can just see the spark plug hole, the plug comes in at an angle from the right, also you can just make out a few holes on manifold face near ports, not in the usual place though
5hane Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Maybe the c/r is so high it ignites itself !! wonder if you could run it on deasil too ! but yer, interesting bit of kit
Toby Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Where do the spark plugs fit Do you mean on this particular head or in general?
