tim Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 the best championship is the BTRDA series, good mix of new and old
105Nick Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Thats difficult, you cant beat seeing a MK1/2 sliding around on the loose but it does take its toll on the shell etc. There isnt much rallying down in Kent but Id love to prep an old Anglia, dont think Id use mine though. Wouldnt mind using my MK1 though, save us having to restore it I guess. I think a bit of both is fun but more tarmac for me I guess.
RallyOrange Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 For me it's got to be the gravel!! The forests seem to be less harsh on the car in my view, as the tarmac/concrete seems to be so hard on the brakes, transmision tyres, not to mention some of the bumps, holes and hollows can be very serious at speeds. I believe in the flamboyant style that is required for forest/gravel rallying, is the best for spectators, and for me as a driver. This in my opinion requires more skill, as the road ahead is less predictable in the forest, and the trees rushing by give the authentisity of the real thing. (Proper Rallying!) These views are my personal opinions, and do not mean that these opinions are necessarily true or of everyone.
MadMark2 Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 TARMAC !!!!!!!!! Just watch Colin Mcrae doing the killarney (in car cam) in his 100k mk2 monster !!!!!!!!!!!
Jimsiss Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 gravel, you can't beat a bit of sideways action and spraying of the crowds
mikey-t Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 to watch! GRAVEL! everytime , but for a serious speed challenge, buzz and better drive tarmac is the way to go..
